Under The guidance and Training of Coach John CarringTon, The girls earned a io-3 overall record and broke The previous Team record of '14-7. The squad was also named con- ference champions and placed Third in The league TournamenT. Coach CarringTon boasTed ThaT The Team really undersTood The game and was very goal- orienTed. He also felT ThaT each girl knew and accepTed her role. A family aTmosphere was com- mon among The enTire squad. Three of The volleyball Tigers re- ceived special recogniTion for Their skills. Karen lvlaus was named lvlosT Valuable Player, and Lisa Al- len, lVlosT Improved. Missy lvlein- berg, BesT New Player, was inviT- ed To Try ouT for The Junior Olym- pic Team from ST. Louis. School pracTices and summer camp aT lvlizzou perfecfed Oak- ville's already TalenTed varslTy volleyball Team, buT working well TogeTher enabled The Team To come ouT aT The Top of Their league. As Coach CarringTon summed up, This was a group of girls ThaT I have really enjoyed and have been proud To coach. They have accomplished a greaT deal in Their four years here.
