This year Coach Robben, The new varsiTy soccer coach, broughT The Team TogeTher in a number of differenT ways. They purchased UQuieT RioT jerseys and a soccer book which helped Them wiTh The inner Game of soccer. The Team drove To Black River for a Three day reTreaT. ln addi- Tion To regular pracTice sessions They floaTed The river and had mediTaTion sessions. Wild isn'T The word for our mediTaTion ses- sions. They were more like bi- zarrel said Bill Berberich abouT The Trip To Black River. This Trip helped in preparing for The long, hard season. IT was a hard season for The Ti- gers. The Team was plagued wiTh injuries, Don Lingner reinjured his knee, Phil Hagemann was knocked senseless several Times, and Tom Allen broke his hand while proTecTing The goal. ThaT isn'T including everyone else's bumps and bruises acauired dur- ing The grueling season. AlThough They had some rough Times, They did have a few brighT momenTs. STarTing The season ouT righT, The Tigers placed second in The Suburban SouTh League Tour- namenT. 'iBeaTing Rosary one To noThing in The CYC TournamenT was auiTe riviTing, reflecTed Mr. Robben. Tom Knese and Chris PiaTchek were The leading scorers, and Chris PiaTchek and Jay Bayer were The mosT consisTanT players, as sTaTed by Coach Robben. CapTains Mike STolzer, Chris PiaTchek, and STeve De- Francesco led The Tigers To a 9- 42-'l season. Mike STolzer replied, 'lWe had fun and mosT of The Time we goT The job done.
