'Even though we didn't win any meets, the season went quite well on the individual level, commented junior Carla Sparks. The 1987 swimming Tigers had many new faces added to their squad. I enjoyed swimming this year and l hope to continue on the team, added freshmen Lori Crawford. With their losses the girls never lost their spirit. At each swim meet we still felt like winners, no matter what the times said, Having a new coach this year was something that also added to this year's season. The new coach was a big help to the new swimmers on the team and helped us help them. added freshmen Jenny Worley. Spirit for any team is something that is almost required. Because without spirit the team isn't com- plete. Although this season wasn't the best for the girls, that only gives them more room to succeed in future years. V YW Row one: J. Heckstetter, R. e're Moving U 7 - f We had a talented team this year. -f Y L It's a lot of fun to play soccer with Finishing the season with a 15-1 record, the 1987 Girls Junior Varsity Soccer Team proved they had what it takes to be winners. Fifteen straight wins were possi- ble because of the team's em- phasis on a strategy of team- work. lt takes everyone to win. Teamwork is always our main objective, exclaimed Janel Berra. Winning wasn't the only reason the J.V. Tigers were playing soc- cer. They were out on the soccer field to have fun as well. Striving for a perfect season, the girls worked extra hard on the practice field. We fulfilled more goals than we ever hoped to. lt was hard work, but it paid off, replied Jenny Pomirko.
