A LUNG DIST PXNCE TILL GRADUATICN Our underclassmen years can easily be compared To a loving embrace. Hugging a friend says so much even if no words are spoken - The feelings are There. This is encouragemenT and confi- dence. The beginning of an em- brace is a simple smile of greef- ing. And so begins our freshmen year. As freshmen we are ap- proached by many new adjusT- menfs. We find ourselves aT The boTTom of The ladder afTer many years of working To The Top. Being a freshman isn'T all bad. Glancing over her shoulder, Kim lVIcCready commenfed, I never dreamed There would be so many cuTe guys. Grace Sandlin announced wiTh a sigh of relief, AT firsT I didn'T know where I was going, buT wiTh The help of my friends, I managed To find my way. By The Time we have approached all The adjusTmenTs, we are ready for The 'acfual hug,' and so soph- omore year is upon us. Sophomore year seems To break The sTereoTypic mold fresh- 128 - Underclassmen men year has. We are familiar wiTh The classes, The faces, and The life sTyIe. Working hard for our licenses, sophomores also have all The basic classes ouT of The way and could choose The classes we were inTeresTed in. Ann Cira laughed, Sophomore year is greaT. I finally feel like I fiT in. As each year passes, we geT more involved, and InTeresT grows. As juniors we don'T wanf To IeT go. We are finally Taking school seriously. We sTarTed To look inTo colleges and plan for The fuTure. Donna Huskey beamed, Being a junior seems like everyone looks up To you. Like you're imporTanT. By our junior year we've had our friends for Three years, and we've shared a loT Togefher. As we near The end of our junior year, our embrace is pulled aparf. We know ThaT we'Il have To IeT go of our friends, our pasT. BuT for now we're enjoying our underclassmen days - The besf years of our lives . . . so far. My f X 3 0 s E X is sf .. wx N sig Q.
