IT seems unnecessary To come in when The people you work with aren'T here, feels Ms. Seper. soon for The cooks who rush To get The next batch of french fries out while Dr. Schindler and Teachers comb The cafeteria. Facial drawings is a project in a oth hour arT class in which Their Teacher fails in all aTTempTs To draw a face so easily drawn A hours ago. WiTh principals calling, students asking questions, and The phone ringing, Ms. VanRonzelen screams. Then l know iT's going Permitting herself To read The newspaper aT 7:45, a Teacher panics when she realizes she planned a TesT for first hour and has noT run iT off. While righT down The hall a parent has a confer- ence with a paTienT Ms. Buckner. The Tardy bell rings and a good morning on The an- nouncements only seems To lin- ger in The ears of The faculty wish- ing They, as well as The students, could be in bed sleeping. A de- tailed lecTure in 3rd hour only seems To puT sTudenTs To resT while an aTTenTive Ms. Buckner siTs in The back only wishing she could join Them. Lunch Time comes Too To be one of Those daysl The afternoon dismissal bell rings and students anxiously file out To The buses. When you're raring To go consTanTly for six hours all day iT's a big relief To hear That last bell, sighs Ms. Nor- Ton. AT 3:30 Ms. VanRonzelen and Ms. Hennekes waiT paTienTly for sTudenTs To use The phone so when finished They can lock up and go home where They and counTless oTher secretaries, Teachers, and principals meeT a whole new office, a whole new classroom, a whole new life.
