Some of our classmates who took part in athletics were: Dilge Miller, Holly Malone and Gordon Klatush. A large number of our students took part in band and glee clubs and a few participated in the opera HSailor Maid.n As Sophomores we undertook the initiation of the Freshmen in the fall. Three boys made letters in football and basket- ball. Dilge Miller acted as treasurer for the Student '3cdv. Pearl Roberts was elected Yell Duke. As Juniors we published the Annualg gave the Seniors a banquet and staged the Junior play HMiss Adventure.n Three of our class members were Student Body Officers: Neva Cox, Sec., Dilge Miller, Vice-presidentg Neil Leclaire, treas., Shirley Blechschmidt was elected Yell Queen and Pearl was one of her assistants. - At last we have reached our goal, graduating Seniors. Our class has slowly decreased to twenty members. Five of our boys received letters in athletics. The Senior Class Officers are: President, Neil LeClaireg viccnpresident, Garth Duvalg Sec.- treas., Neva Cox. Our number new stands at l3. Our class has entered into many of the school activities hdythe-Jackson and anna Korbut are Girls? Ulub officers and Pete mudano our student body Treasurer. Our class officers are: Presidents, Anna Korbut and hilber Ames, Vice President, hdythe Jackson, and secretary-Treasurer, Pete dudano. The Junior play, HThe Adventures of Gran'pa,W was a hit Mith the money earned by the play, the class has succeeded in editing the Annual and in giving the Junior-senior banquet. This social affair, honoring the Class of l942, took place on may 8, having as its motif a novel sailor theme. Of all the activities in which the class has participated, the publish- ing of this Yearbook has meant the nost to us. FACULTY R. L. Charles Lauderdale, Vicefpresident Velma wenttorthg secretary-treasurer, Ruby Peterson. The Freshman initiation was held October lO, l94l. The Home Economics class completed a semester of sewing and gave a style for the P.T.a., showing the suits, dresses, and other garments they had made under Miss deitke's guidance. The girls of the class have made a good showing in the Girl's Club dance, and even did their part in the H5mokerH this year, presenting a most attractive drill team. The Yell Queen for the year, nuby Peterson, is a sophomore. The boys of the class were no less active. several were initiated into the HON Club. They also took a big part in the nsmokern and boxed their way to victory. On March 21, many of the sophomores went to a Glee Club contest at Chehalis,where they got a rating of Hfairu in spite of the fact that they had all been to the Ice arena at Olympia the night before. Incidentally, hone of the sophomores were killed or even injured there. The sophomores had prominent parts in the Minstrel show and in the program presenting the plaque nonoring the boys of O. n. o. at present members of our armed Forces. and thus is ended another successful year. Irene Whitman, Rebecca Schenider, Shirley Beumgardner, and Bud Harding withdrew from school during the first semester. In Sept. the Freshmen Class elected its class officers: President, Joe Gntchellg Vice President, Russel Doergeg Sec., David Isuacsong Treasurer, Geraldine Connors. The Freshmen athletes were: Joe Getchell, Russel Doerge, Van Eaton, and Calvin Beckwith. A ,On October lo, the Sophomores entertained the Freshmen et the Initiation Party. The Freshmen Class gave a return party on April 28. Throughout the year 442Q of the students of the Freshmen Class were on the honor roll.
