enior Class History After one has been a senior for a while, he realizes that he will soon leave high school and the friends he has made over the years. This makes him look back over the years and sum up his early years of life, the years that form the character and habits of an individual. Looking back over the years bring memories of times that will long be remembered, some sad and many happy ones. Now let us look back over these years. On August 29, 1947, thirty-five members of the class of '59 started our first year of school. In the original class were: William Joe Archer, Morris Frank Beaman, Linda Blandford, Robert E. Bond, Susan Bond, Judith Clark, Mary Lois Clark, Bobby Decker, Lorna June Dillon, Ronald E. Hanger, Beverly Hartzburg, Don Harvey, Neil Holcomb, Patricia Johnson, William Krueger, Bruce Leak, Bruce Mayall, Marilyn Kay Maynard, Richard Meridath, Greger Mitton, Rita Sue Parr, Rose Marie Ravellette, Vera Richardson, Donald Swayze, Michael Tracy, Patricia Van Antwerp, Leo Whitson, Evelyn Kay Wilson, Karen Wolfe, Max Worley, Harry Yates, Patricia Barmes, David Dennison, Hazel Dennison, and Hugh McKinley. The last four joined the class after Christmas vacation. As the records for our second year have been misplaced, it is difficult for us to know the changes made during our second year. George Arthur joined our class in the second grade. Kay lvers came and left our class in the second year and returned in the third grade. David Gilley also enrolled in our class the third year. An unfortunate flood accident took two members from our class. Jerry Hall drowned in high flood waters and Larry moved away. Leo Whitson left on January 16 to go to school at Booneville. Hazel and David Dennison also moved away this year on February 20. Linda Bland- ford left our class on October 9. On November 20, David Gilley moved away. During our fourth year, Bobby Decker, Harry Yates, Mary Lois and Kenneth Clark withdrew from our class. Those who entered our class were: Margaret Snyder, Jeanette McMillin, Shirley Kennedy, Lucille Archer. Leo Whitson returned to our class this year. Our fifth grade records have also been misplaced. David Gilley left our class in the sixth grade. In the seventh grade there were eleven boys and fourteen girls. George Baxley, Richard Starns, and Judy Purkhiser joined us in the seventh grade. During our second year in junior high school, Judy Purkhiser left while we gained three members: Charles Case, Marian Schutter, and Bill Helderman. Four students entered our class our Freshman year and three of them left the same year. The four were: Larry Entrican, Rosalie Martin, Richard Gardner, and Jim Owens who stayed with us for two more years. Marian Schutter, Don Harvey, and Bill Helderman left us in our Soph- omore year. Lola Bowlin and Arnold Rinsch entered the Sophomores of 56-57. June Dillon and Rose Marie Ravellette left the jolly Juniors of 57-58. The class members of 1959 now include: George Arthur, Frank Beaman, Bob Bond, Bruce DeSchamp, Ronnie Hanger, Neil Holcomb, Kay Ivers, Lola Kehoe, Bruce Leak, Bruce Mayall, Kay Maynard, Jeanette McMillin, Greg Mitton, Janice Morrison, Vera Richardson, Arnold Rinsch, Margaret Snyder, Betty Whitson, Leo Whitson, Kay Wilson, and Karen Wolfe. In our Junior year in high school, our two big events were the class play and the Junior-Senior Reception. The title of our class play was, Grandad Goes Wild. Our sponsors directed the play. We had the Junior-Senior Reception in the Fortnightly at Vincennes. The theme of our prom was, A Hawaiian Cruise. Our sponsors for our Junior year were Mr. Rex May and Miss Jessie Lee Latshaw.
