Mrs. Hamilton. R.N. und Mrs. Weaver. R.D.H.. Keep O. H. S. Fit Powers Behind a Physically Fit and Efficient O. H. S. ll a student ot l9lU were to visit his alma mater, one of the first major improvements he would notice would lie the addition of an efficient Health Staff. Since l9l7, O. H. S. has boasted a doctor and since IQZ8 also a nurse and a dental hygienist. DR. FUSIA and MRS. HAMILTON help keep boys and girls in condition, and MRS. WEAVER helps them keep their dentist bills down. O. H. S. Then and students over the rough spots and started many an en- gineer on his mathematical way. This brings to mind other members of our faculty. There was Mr. Replogle, whose tireless etforts enabled him to organize O. H. S.'s chorus and orchestra, which proved to be the first high school orchestra in the county. Mr. Replogle was also largely responsible tor the present high school building. We had art and music only once a week, but neverthe- lc-ss, we managed to absorb a sufficient amount of cul- tum . Your high school before was nothing more than it vacant lot, It wasn't until l9l3 that shop and domestic science were added to the curriculum. You think youre ultra-modern by having open house , but we had it, too. Don't get the idea that we were a bunch of panty- waists either, for once in a while we used to shoot up the place with rubber bands. Hitler was still a 4 Mary E. Householder Sot'r'nttriy to llr. Gilmore Donald A. Fusia. M.D. Down through the years have come many helpful deeds on the part of MISS MARY E. HOUSEHOLDER. Without her, Oakmont schools would be lost . . . Blue slips, white slips, yellow slips, orange slipf, and pink slips eventually find their way into the orderly hands of MlSS HAZLETT, from whose eagle eye not even one excuse dares escape. Now ' Ll0l1llll1llt'lHxfl'0lIl llllljll' 6 paper-hanger then, so rubber wasn't an essential war material, Your band room was our auditorium and there, every morning without fail, Mr. T. K. lohnston, the Dr. Gilmore of l9lO, addressed the students of O. H. S. Through his influence, a fourth year was added to the high school course. School picnics and class parties meant a lot to us, so we really had some humdingers. We weren't the dear old red and black in those days, every class had its own colors. Here clad interrupted his reminiscence of O. H. S. to remind me that a knowledge of the history of the school does little to improve my plane geometry. How right ho was! So back on the job, poor loefuddled sophomore. Theres work to be done. . . . Robert Davis '47, Ernest Reinhold '46, Felton Pinner '46 Priscilla lane Hazlett A.B., B.S. Secretary to Mr. ltoitz Mary W.
