XVhile Mr. Masters and Mr. McCurdy skeptically lend their ears Mr. Kliskey ex- pounds one of his pet theories,-subject unknown. Mr. Kliskey gets a real chance to lecture, both to his football team and his American History classes. Mr. McCurdy and Mr. Masters concentrate on Civics and lliology classes. As a sideline, Mr. Masters has a Plane Geometry class and Mr. Mc- Curdy has a lone General Math Course. Is it the class-room boners of the fresh- men and junior English classes that bring smiles to these second floor teachers? For the time being, at least, Mrs. Foster is not at all concerned about those terrible mis- takes the juniors make. Although Mlle. Harter shows interest in 'her colleagues papers, her heart is really with her own classes as she struggles through first year linglish or helps them to parlez-vous. In Mr. lidmiston's Algebra classes the poor frcshies Hounder through piles of mean- ingless signs and numbers, but linally win a victorious battle over that'-unknown quantity. Two of the male constituents of our fac- ulty enjoy a friendly discussion. P.0.D. becomes an interesting subject under the direction of Mr. Marshall. just ask the seniors! Through his efforts a Hi-Y Club was organized this year at O.H.S. Mr. Glenn keeps the high school financial as- sociation out of the red and te-aches his classes how to balance the budget. A woodland glade, a nice comfortable log and the thrills in the Saturday Evening Post provide plenty of pleasure for these three members of O.H.S. faculty. It must be a relief to Miss Ekas and Miss Shott to get away from the split infmitives and dangling participles of the English de- partment. And how the quiet of the woods must soothe Miss Gillespie after a trying day in a gym class. Here Mr. W'ood explains the intricacies of measuring the tensile strength of wire to a group of studious Physics students. Mr. Wfood is adept at seasoning his courses AIARY VVlI.L1.XMS, R.N. Although an odor of hydrogen sulfide often permeates the lab, and many other physical hardships have to be endured, Mr. VVood's students always come up for more. If our dental and medical departments should ever be in a literary mood, How to Alleviate Pain' and Influence Microbes, would be an appropriate name for their masterpiece. Unsolicited testimonials of approval would be available from many students who have had their oral and bodily ills cured by our medical staff.

OFFICERS Pages from a Senior's Diary On june sixteenth, 1939, Father Time slowly closed the four year diary of one hundred and two Oakmont High School seniors. Before Fate turns the key on the memories of those happy years, let's rem- inisce. The autumn of nineteen thirty-live brought to our Alma Mater a conglomera- tion of knee pants and big hair bows in the forms of one hundred seventy-nine freshies. The lirst few weeks were occu- pied with attempts to rind the assigned classrooms and to keep the initiation-loving sophomores from finding us. Remember how we hid when we saw one of those big brutes coming! Unanimously we agreed to let x equal the unknownf' NVilling that Latin remain a dead language, we busily thought about the possibilities of burying it. Nkle should have won the prize, but someone bribed the judges Qof coursej. Our heroes in the var- sity football and basketball lineups did their bit in the field of sports. So ended our second high school year. Nineteen thirty-seven began with one hundred and fifteen juniors caught in the dynamic whirl of Social activities with Joe Carter, our president, as the guiding star. VVe all donned our best and trucked to the February Junior .Dance where a good time was had by all. Quite a few of us displayed our dramatic talent in one act plays given by the Math and Dramatic clubs.
