Carrying out our Chinese H - - 11 . , , theme. We Spent a Night in Cathay. Various low seniors dressed 111 coolie coats and hats served us our dinner. In November, shortly after the senior banquet, Mr. Lucas, our coun- selor, became the proud father of a baby boy. His nickname promptly changed from Shorty to Pop, The next event on our busy schedule was the senior farewell, An Oriental Garden Party, Where We became further acquainted with parents, teachers, and students, alike. This was the last affair where We were all together. To complete the Chinese theme, our final event, the senior ball, Iade, was held Ianuary 9, 1953. Many seniors Worked long and hard on the preparations and the final decorations. Seniors and their dates enjoyed themselves greatly. Several weeks after the term started we went to the low senior party at the Recreation Center, where we met new friends and old. Later we attended the main event of the term, Roman Holiday, our low senior dinner. The decorations and the menu tied in well with our Italian theme. Coming back to Tech after an exciting summer, we found ourselves mighty high seniors. We also found that we were to have a new prin- cipal for our last term at Tech. l-le was Mr. George Bliss, who previously was principal at San Leandro High. Our senior activities began almost immediately. Our first event was the senior picnic, held at Marsh Creek. Some of us spent our time in the swimming pool, while others went horseback riding or played baseball. Some brave seniors even ventured to take a ride on the Marsh Creek Express. Yes, it was the day of graduation. lt was strange, because We were not happy. Running through our minds were thoughts of all We had gained through high school.
