II 'e I1 are II fight on our lmndi 1 1 1 We have heard of the ceaseless fight for democracy. Our parents have cautioned us against the futil- ity of war. Mute evidence depicts the ceaseless struggle for work and the right to live. We have already experienced the demand for intelligent and logical thinkers IVe are pr-epar-wi. 1 1 1 Our eighteen years of life have built around us a pattern. Our climb through grammar and secondary school, to the stepping stone of high school, has woven into our life pattern many intricate designs. With these designs for living, we are, we hope, capable of meeting any emergency. We can- not, however, expect to fulfill our chosen destiny without the driving force of clear, clean, and logical thinking 1 1 1 Throughout our high school career, stability and independ- ence have been incorporated into our character. A fondness for the arts and music has comprised our inspirational back- ground. Self-restraint has strengthened our driving power 1 1 1 We have studied and worked. We have experienced and benefited. Wye non' Inlee our fate into our ofzrn IIIIIZIIIX, and, 1L'iff11rfenr vision, accept the clmlfengz' of life and of Ihr' 'iL'O7'fdf- Martin Griffin, Class President. Clubs, boards, and snapping of candid shots of students in leisure time and in classes are an insep- arable part ot school lite . . . Memory time is here and along with it recognition of various boards, committees and clubs . . . Most easily remembered are the Social Activities Committee and Rally Committee. No Technite tails to recall the Hi-Day dance, St. Patrick's Day trolic, the rustic farm dance, and the skating parties at which Technites played tumble-weed . . . The Rally Committee presented snaDIOY rallies at assemblies and boosted school spirit in support ot Tech teams . . . No doubt there would have been a good many bruises and perhaps more serious injuries in the halls if the Traffic Board hadn't been on the job . . . The Maintenance Board always gets its man . lt is so easy just to toss away a candy or gum wrapping, but just think of what the campus and build- ing would look like if there were no ash cans. Our thanks to the Maintenance Board for upholding its motto ot getting its man' '... Perhaps least recognized is the Finance Committee which helped keep Tech from getting into what is commonly known as the red . They pushed ticket sales, too . . . Clubs! The Tech cinder men retained the champion- ship that they won last year, only after a battle with the favored Fremont Tigers and the improved Uni- versity Cubs. With but two events left on the slate, the pole vault and the relay, the three squads stood neck and neck. An upset in the vault, which gave the Bulldogs first place, and an easy win by the Tech relay team turned the balance. Tech won by a margin of l5V2 points . . . This culminates a win- ning streak of six out of seven championships in the past two years won by Tech . . . Major holder of the spotlight was, however, the Block T society, with the colorful and traditional Block T initiation, to which all entering neophytes were subjected . . .
