SENIOR CIRCUIT OW fhaf we're graduafing and prob- ably won'f be hanging around fhe be- loved Chem. labs, 'n fhe Liffle Theafer, 'n fhe publicafions room, 'n McMas+er's office anymore, we mighl' as well own up fhaf we were Sophomores-in facf, fhe besf cargo of Sophomores ever shipped info Technical- 'way back in January, l93I. Awed by fales of fhe elevafors and fhe swimming pool, we proved fo be quife fhe dearesf liffle scrubs fo upper classmen. Buf, somehow we skimmed fhrough geo- mefry, and, fhoroughly in love wifh Tech, we began fo show off in our iunior year as we found ourselves in fhe swing of sfudenf ac- fivifies. Wi+h Alma London, class presidenf in fhe fall of I932, we parficipafed in Junior Day, held minor parfs in fhe opera, Bells of Capisfrano, and in fhe producfion of Ham- let Rufh File and Graham Judge headed fhe Alpha Sociefy, Junior honor club, which has since been disbanded. Alfhough deep in sfudies, we were defi- nifely affached fo school inferesfs by our low senior ferm: Alma London, as Commis- sioner of Honor Acfivifies, was our only represenfafive on fhe Execufive Board. Helen Rognas for her arf work, and Walfer Wrighf for an original play, won recognifion in fhe Scholasfic Nafional High School Awards in March. Our class officers fhaf ferm were Leonard Gabrielson, Wayne Thompson, and Norman Schlegal. Then fhe June graduafes carried away fheir sheepskins, leaving fhe building clear for our supremacy. Wifh only sevenfeen weeks fo be high seniors, sfill we accomplished much, placing Bill Harman as our prexy, and enioying fo ifs fullesf measure our lasl' ferm. Acfion was our fheme. So whaf? So fhe High Senior foofball squad broke fhe fie iinx of fhe pasi' fwo years. Under Capfain Graham Judge, Coach Orville Peferson, and Manager Law- rence O'Driscoll fhe boys came fhrough wifh a 6-0 vicfory over fhe Lows in fhe annual Senior Day grid +il+. Alfred Perlin, Lucrefia Novak, Alma London, and Jim Allen wifh fheir commiffees, combined fo puf over fare- well senior acfivifies deserving of fhe praise and fhanks of fheir classmafes. To Technical, in foken of ifs kindly care, ifs encouragemenf, and ifs many friendships fhe class leaves a fund for improvemenfs of fhe Liffle Theafer and fhe sfage of fhe main audi- forium. The empfy-in-fhe-sfomach feeling common iusf before reporf cards we be- queafh fo fhe oncoming High Senior class. Being generous, we fhrow in, also, fhe rare fhrill of an unexpecfed A . And fo our feachers we leave our chewing gum lslighfly worse for wearl and our flunked fesfs-fo re- member us by. lTo fhe nexf edifor of Senior Memories lilies and an epifaphll For fhe lasf fime as fhe class of December, I933, we have played, and dined, and danced fogefher. Joyful fo have reached our goal, yef regrefful fo leave behind fhe happy days spenf here, we pause in a lasf salufafion, Hail, all hail! fo Technical High School. ZENIOR MEMORIES

A FLASH LIGHT OF FAQ SPORTS HIS ferm saw a Tech foofball feam which seemed desfined fo decorafe fhe cellar posifion in fhe O. A. L. sfandings, rise in fhe final weeks of fhe season fo capfure fif+h place away from her ancienf rival, Mc- Clymonds. The rapid gain in games won may be affribufed fo fhe fine show of fighf and feam spirif. Pracfice season opened wifh a I3-6 win over a weak Piffsburg feam, followed by a convincing I2-0 win by fhe Berkeley Yellow- iackefs, fheir sevenfh in a row againsf fhe Bulldogs. Meefing fheir fhree greafesf rivals in fhe O. A. L.-Oakland, Universify, and Mack -in fhe opening filfs, The Broad- wayans fook fhree on fhe chin, going down for fhe counf I9-0, 7-0, I3-7. A buoying up of spirifs came wifh a score- less fie, when fhe Purple and Gold mef an inoffensive feam from San Leandro. The move gafhered impefus wifh a crushing I9-0 win over Crusaders from Casflemonf and a I2-0 vicfory over a highly-favored Roosevelf feam. Anofher surprise followed, when fhe second-place Fremonfers were held fo a no- poinf fie. In fhe Easf-Wesf game Tech and San Leandro combined fo puf over fhe mosf fhrilling and well-played quarfer of fhe day, each feam scoring once. Tech was given no supporf from fhe Wesf, and fhe Easf subse- quenfly won ouf, 20-7. Among players receiving acclaim fhrough- ouf fhe cify were Capfain Graham Judge, Julius Squarzino, Bill Mafheson, Louis Re- peffo, and Mario Maccario. Coach Leroy Sharp, pleased wifh fhe spirif of fhis year's feam, has a fine bunch leff fo go ouf affer a possible O. A. L. championship nexf fall. Af fhe beginning of fhe baskefball season Coach Al Kyfe found many promising hoop- sfers who should come close fo winning a peg for fhe war club. Kyfe will probably look fo Fulmer, Bradshaw, Doran, Anficivich, Elmore, Specfor, and Basso for mosf of fhe hard work fhis ferm. The squad, which is small, should be one of fhe fasfesf in fhe League. RQOQTQQ MANELIVERS HE TECHNICAL BATTALICN, com- manded by Cadef Lieufenanf-Colonel Harrison Rowe, finishes a successful semesfer of fraining and varied acfivifies. Officers for fhis ferm, besides Lieufenanf-Colonel Rowe, are: Cadef Maior Bill Smifhg Cadef Cap- fains, Jim Marfin, Harry Dodson, Harrold Russell, Elick Williams, Gilberf Laing, and Russell Hill: Cadef Firsf Lieufenanfs, Dick Greyson, Dan Bonsack, Norman Herking- ham, and Clifford Ommerf: Cadef Second Lieufenanfs, Bruce Nelson, Don Lehman, Ray Behneman, Dan Lange, and Leslie Blake. Wifh Lieufenanf Greyson leading, fhe Tech band won fhe Armisfice Day compefi- fion, alfhough fhe unif ifself placed fhird. Cadef Capfain Russell he ded f rifle feam.M . A special drill plafoon, organized by Lieu- fenanf-Colonel Rowe, visifed various iunior high schools fo show fhe graduafing classes how fhe R.O.T.C. performs. SENIOR MEMORIES
