Experienced men were available at practically every position. The lineup was composed of six sen- iors five of them with two years of varsity play two juniors and one sophomore. Coach Mike Marcoulis forces were particularly tough on the opposition when smooth-throwing Carl Shelen was handling the pitching chores. Seniors Ken Reid Jim McClure and George Ni- cholson comprised most of the Wildcats power at the plate. Rifle-armed Marty Santos worked behind the bat with Rob Grialou playing first base. Roaming the outfield were Charlie Allen Dave Freitas and Milford Martin. Noel Lanctot Jim Rivera and Dennis Keener were utility men and supplied much pinch-hitting strength. Backing Shelen on the hill were control pitchers Larry Bird and Steve Benbow.
