Dear Class of January l'-958, l Li W ln recognition of the help Mrs. Patricia Kelly has will- ingly given the students of Oakland High School, we, the Oaken Bucket staff extend to her our special thanks. She has helped the students by supplying them with information about student activities and by doing extra secretarial work for them. Mrs. Kelly has also volunteered helpful sugges- tions when called upon to do so. Without her assistance many student organizations would not have functioned so smoothly. lflz Tulehfe Zomueloz MRS. MYRTLE D. YATES Fall H12 Counselor Four interesting and challenging years ago you students from McChesney entered Oakland High School in the ninth grade, and one year later you were joined by a group of tenth graders from Bret Harte, Roosevelt, Westlake and other junior high schools. Three years have passed rapidly and you have grown in stature, poise, and self confidence. You have gained in knowledge and in your ability to get along with people. You have now entered a new period in your self development. Whether your goal is to have more formal education or to go immediately on the job, may you realize that your education is not ended. You will go on acquiring knowledge. The measure of your success and happiness will be determined by your desire and ability to take responsibility, to do a job well, to re- spect the rights of other people, and to get along with them. I have enjoyed working with you and I wish you all success and happiness in the years to come. Sincerely, Myrtle D. Yates
