JEAN GLIDDEZN Tri-Hi-Y F. H. A. Music Club Treasurer '49-'50 Mathematics Club Jeanie has been with us since eighth grade. She has a hobby of collect- ing key rings and key chains. She has never been too much interested in boys but she does admit there is one special in the marines. Jean can always be depended upon to have her homework done on time. She is one of the quiet members of the class. She is planning on becoming a beautician after gradu- ation and we wish her all the luck in the world in this field. JAMES HALELY Music Club President '49-'50 ,Science Club President '48-'49 Hi-Y Club Secretary '48-'59 Baseball Track Haley has been with us since our start twelve years ago. He is a very active member. His favorite hobby is sports. He has access to a '46 Chrys- ler in which he takes his current favorite riding. Haley is also a valued em- ployee of Page's Dairy and is around the neighborhood early in the morning. His best pal is James Smith. As yet, Haley has no plans for the future, but whatever he tries, we are sure he will be successful. RUTH NORTON Tri-Hi-Y President '49-'50 Music Club Treasurer '48-'49 Band F. H. A. President '49-'50 Social Studies Club Ruthie is a charter member of our group but Hrurnor hath it that fourth grade was her favorite year. She is an accomplished pianist and has always been obliging when we needed an accompanist. She is the bright shining star of our class, and after she graduates she is going to attend a business school, so we feel confident she will be an honor to the business world as she has been to the class of '50, LILLIAN ROE. F. H. A. Treasurer '49-'50 Music Club Tri-Hi-Y Mathematics Club Lil is a quiet member of the class - she started with us in the first grade and has smiled her way through the other eleven years. She has an in- fectious giggle. Her hobby is collecting trinkets which has given her a great assortment of oddities. Her interest in boys is yet to come. She plans to work in a grocery store and we who stay near home plan to see her often in the future 10

. Seniors . .. GERALD BILLS Social Studies Club Hi-Y Treasurer '47-'48 Class Secretary '46-'50 Boys' State '49 Billsy as he is affectionately known, is the writer of our class. ln '46- '47 he won, not only the local, but also the district prize of S 15.00 in the state wide Fire Prevention essay contest. He is one of Oakland High's most relia- ble students. His hobbies are model railroads and airplanes. He was chosen our American Legion representative at camp in '49, He's one of our local paper boys and his customers say he is the most faithful and efficient they've ever had. He's quiet but fun loving and we all like him. Good luck, Billsy . CAROL BIRDSALL Tri Hi-Y Vice-President '48-'49 Music Club President '47-'48 Math. Club President '48-'49 F. H. A. Vice-President '49-'50 Carol, a member of our class since sixth grade, is the songstress of our school. She has a lovely voice and is most gracious and co-operative when we need material for programs. Ruthie Norton and she are constant companions: they are the class gigg1ers and members of Secret 8 She's popular with both sexes and we wish her continued popularity and success when she becomes a secretary. STANLEY DAVIDSON Hi-Y Treasurer '49-'50 Math. Club President '49-'50 Music Club Band Baseball Red has been with us since we started in school. His hobby is banging on his drum set to keep in practice for the American Legion Drum Corps. He is our class blusher . He plans on joining the air force. We wish him the best of luck and success in his fu- ture. FLOYD FISK Hi-Y President '49-'50 Music Club Social Studies Club President Baseball '47-'48 Track Fudgy joined our class in the third grade. He has much musical talent: he has always been an active member of the baseball team. Tiny is his side-kick. Of course, as all fellows do at some time, he became interested in girls in his Sophomore year, but at graduation, he has no steady . We can always count on him to put some life into any party, particularly when he be- gins jitterbugging. The entire class wishes him lots of luck in the future. 9

JAMES SMITH President Senior Class Music Club Hi-Y Vice-President '48-'49 Baseball Manager '49-'50 Science Club Treasurer '47-'48 Smitty is one of our outstanding members, and another charter member. Smitty's cars, Cuhot-rod and touring l, are his absorbing interests We nev er know what he'll drive up in next, but we're always sure he'll drive wherever we go. The Senior Class would be lost without Smitty's hot-rod to do our er- rands. Smitty is a real man-about-town with all the girls. Blondes preferr- ed! Smitty's constant friend is Haley. They are both members of the great Jolly Boys' Club . His future plans include a truck-farm in Windsor. Suc- cess to our class president. HAROLD TWINING Hi-Y Science Club Vice-President '49-'50 Tiny is the appropriate nickname of this boy. He is a newcomer who has been with us only in high school. He has one hobby - stamp collecting. He has no interest in the girls. His best friend is Floyd Fisk. He owns a car but gets very nervous at inspection time. He plans to be a mechanic and we hope his struggles with Trig will benefit him there. RICHARD WILLIAMS Hi-Y Social Studies Club Music Club Band Boys' State '48 Richard's nickname is Butch . His one and only hobby is sports. He may become a great sports announcer someday for he really loves this work. Butch is a good, earnest student and was our American Legion representative at camp in '48. He has a fine personality but has little to do with women. He is in the American Legion Drum and Bugle Corps. Butch hopes to join the Army Air Force and become a pilot. He is likely to succeed in life because of his fine personality and excellent character. Farewell to him and the Class of '50. ll
