DEDICATION We, the class of '49, dedicate our first yearbook to our Oakland High School, whose origin was on State Street but which has been in its present building since 1926. The distinguishing characteristic of our school, through the adminis- trators, has been its deep interest in the welfare of its pupils, which has been an inspiration for us through the years. From these same portals have gone many whose sentimental reflec- tions have been, and are, the same as ours, yet because this is the school's first yearbook, these sentiments have not been immortalized in print. Therefore, we consider it altogether fitting and proper that our first yearbook shall be dedicated to our school. Affectionately and respectfully we offer it. May our efforts be worthy of Oakland High School. 3
