Healthier, Happier Students!? Health has been an added required class for the juniors starting this year. The class is being taught by Mrs. Fritsch. It is a semester long. The class teaches about nutrition, sex education, and the psychological and physical development of the human. Also included in health class are the topics of alcohol and chemical abuse, and how to deal with these problems. Due to the outbreak of many recent diseases, the state has felt that health class will benefit the students. The class will help the students make healthier decisions because we are better informed. Fit as a fiddle!? There are quite a few changes in the gym classes this year. Mr. Mock is new at Oakfield High School. He became the new physical education teacher after Mr. Toomey retired last year. Mr. Mock and Miss Schreiner are working together this year in our Physical Education program. Physical Education classes have been arranged this year so that all of the classes are in the afternoon. It was arranged this way so that Miss Schreiner could also teach classes over at the Middle School. Mr. Mock only works at the High School part time. Gym classes have gone co-ed this year. Many of the students like this and others do not. Because of all the classes being held in the afternoon and being co-ed, the classes have become much larger. In order for the teachers to keep control they have broken the classes in half, so Mr. Mock gets half and Miss Schreiner the other half. Also squad lines have been added to help in keeping the attendance record and so that the students can do “cals”. Top left: B. Wachendorf watches as R. Justman trys to lift weights. Top right: Coming in from the field of playing mock ball. Bottom right: Mr. Mock at his desk. Bottom left: Playing the new game of mock ball. 4

Juniors are open to all the freshman and sophomore classes, including Consumer Math and Trigonometry.
