EXTRA-CURRICULAR T. Messner with his cunning smile is above and beyond the rest. J. Kottke uses all she can to lift 90 pounds. J. Counsins and R. Justman laugh at something? Maybe its Julie trying to lift her 90 pounds! P. Nickel and C. Tietz share an “extra-curricular” moment! Get the point? 18

WORD PROCESSOR ADDS TO BUS. ED. Our Business Department is headed by Mrs. Linda Eschenbach and Mr. Doug McLean. Freshmen year starts off with a basic typing class, then a year usually goes by before you enter into the official business courses. Business Computers is offered for a semester. It’s an introduction to the machine, where basic business programs are used. Business machines is a class used for teaching the use of office sets, calculators, copiers, transcribers, and computers. Accounting is a full year business course where you keep records of money; and it could be the proper training for a future job. Short hand is offered every other year and is beneficial to those who are going to be secretaries. A good class to take is Office Procedures if you plan to be a secretary. Merchandising is the class that rounds out your education in business: how to work in stores, handle and sell merchandise, advertise, make displays, and go on a field trip. Upper left: J. Mielke is up to something while teacher has her back turned. Left: Mr. McLean points out the fine points of Accounting to S. Guell. Upper right: M. Seyfert concentrates on keeping her eyes on the book and not on the keys. Above: A. Albrecht and G. Birschbach study, while J. Schmitz checks to see if her work is right. 17

ABOVE AND BEYOND Top left: T. Schreiber, S. Berlowski, D. Post, and M. Steffes are trying to work on the Freshmen float! Middle left: T. Cross is patiently waiting for a volleyball! Bottom left: C. Raube and T. Ahtonen are, as usual, concentrating on their music! Chad is really getting into it! Upper right: A. Fink wondering what else she can add to her “superb” painting. No joking either! 19
