Dawn Sing and Bryan Brauer The class of 1986 held their Homecoming dance on October 19. 1985 in the Oakfield High School Gymnasium. To create an Autumn atmosphere the gym was decorated by black, maroon. and silver grey crepe paper and balloons. The theme was “Memories Last Forever” and the music was provided by Rent-a-Jock of Milwaukee. The Grand March began at 10:30 pm. To set the mood the theme song. “Forever” by Kenny Loggins, was played as the court was introduced and Tracy Hilbert and Bob Heinz were crowned King and Queen. Even though Oakfield was defeated by Mayville in the Homecoming game the preceding night, everyone was in high spirits. In short, the evening turned out to be a Memory that will Last Forever. The Student Council sponsored the first ‘'Winterfest’' ever held here at Oakfield. It started February 16 with snow softball and tug-of-war. Monday was Fun-in-the-sun day with an ice cream eating contest at noon. Tuesday was ping-pong relays. Wednesday was Formal Dress-up day and orange passing. On Thursday, they had a winter dress and undress day at noon. Friday was color day with scooter races. Rent-a-jock was DJ at the dance on Saturday from 8-12. A Puttin-on-the-Hits contest was also held on Saturday. A special thanks to the teams and all who participated. The Whitecaps 18 WINTERFEST
