The two bottom pictures show the girls training to become future homemakers and the picture at the left indicates the boys' interest in woodworking. On April 2ht 1965 our Junior Class held their prom. The gym as decorated in the brightest colors of gold and azure blue to the theme Shangri-La . The main attraction was an oriental mural and a bridge on one end of the gym. In the middle of the gym hung a glittering crystal ball which was surrounded by spotlights and a partial false ceiling. At 10:U5 o'clock the Grand March began down a spotlit stairway leading from the stage. At the end of the Grand March King John Suprenand crowned Carol Becker his Queen. At the completion of the crowning the court danced to the beautiful theme Shangri-La . Don Sampson and his orchestra provided enchanting music which helped to secure the memory of a wonderful evening. Tee main Homecoming events too place on October 2 with a parade commencing at UrOO. The winning float was ■Oalers are ratiers, entered by the junior class. We hoped the Juniors slogan would come true, but ve were disappointed when the outcome of the Homecoming game was lr-13, in nosen-dale’s favor. The gym was colorfully decorated with a spring and fall scene to correspond with the theme From May to Autumn.n Tne highlight of the evening was at 11 p. m. when King, Jim Hols crowned Kay Seyfert, Queen of the 1?65 Oakfield Homecoming. The King and Queen and their court then danced to the theme song, Fran May to Autumn, played by Mel Loest and hie orchestra. The Sophomore entry hatched second place for them! And she make's US do $0 laps arouna the Gyml “ APT F Winning first prize on their float were the Juniors, with their slogan Balers are Failers Badger State Representatives The delegates acting as the 19 5 Badger State Representatives for Oakfield High School were: Mary Krull, Joe Liegl, and John Suprenand. From June 12 to June 19, they were instructed in the functioning of the local, county and state government. Badger Girls' State was held at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. 3adger Boys' State was held at Rinon College in Ripon. These three students were sponsored by V.F.W. Post 8092 and were selected by the teachers on their ability and leadership. Award, sponsored by Post 8092 of Oak-field From One America to Another Miss Susana Pinonez, an exchange Spanish teacher from Valparaiso, Chile has experienced her first year in the United States as a teacher here at Oakfield High School The first student representing Oak-field High School as an exchange student, Cheryl Kunkle resided for three months in BogotS, Colombia, where she observed the South American school curriculum. Chile is the homeland of the first exchange student to be received at Oakfield High School, Margaret Soramerville. We are honored to have had Miss Sommerville in our school for three months, during which time she attended our classes. Smile ! She was selected on the basis of leadership and enthusiasm for home economics.
