ATHLEl'lC COUNCIL Just as the citizens of a com- munity must be governed, so must the school's athletes. This group of school adminis- trators and coaches is em- powered with proposing and en- forcing regulations governing all phases of athletics. They rule on many different matters, in- cluding awards, equipment use, eligibility, state rules, and ath- letic contest management. RECORD Letchworth Alden Attica Warsaw Perry 'Dansville Akron Football The Oakfield gridders got off to a late start this year because of a two week delay in the opening of school. This forced the team to practice in the evening from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Because of the loss of 7 regulars from last year's squad, Coach Hamilton had to switch a few experienced linemen to the backfield. Many of the games were close and exciting, and the desire to win was displayed by every boy. To captain this year's team, the squad elected three Seniors-Don Gray, Jack Silvernail, and Pete Rosone. Nearly every backfield man that played scored this year, with Gerry Hale the leading scorer and Pete Rosone the leading ground gciner. .lack Silvernail handled the Q.B. duties in fine fashion for his first season at that post and connected with many passes to Sherwin Bowen, the leading pass receiver. The mainstays of the line were Don Gray, Tom Jenkins, Lenny Kingdom, Frank Skop, and Gary Cox, with Larry White and Willie Meney doing a fine job of backing up the line. 59 Of Our Central District
