Ann Cianfrini, Jane Balfour, Josephine Foderaro, Joan Wood- This year has marked the entrance of the Romance Language Club into the family of school activities here at O.A.C.S. The introduc- tion of Spanish into the curriculum has necessitated a merger of stu- dents with Latin, French and Spanish interests. This year's program was highlighted by three distinct national repasts-a Spanish fiesta of dishes indigenous to the land of peons, an Roman banquet such as may have pleased the palate of the Caesars, and a French dinner that would do any native Parisian iustice. In all the club's first year portends a successful future and shows that a good lesson can be learned by students of different linguistic preferences. liz, . in----W ' H' N1 OFFICERS: Standing: Wesley Waldron, PreSldef1f: Ruth Wiedrich, Vice-President. These eleven boys are playing probably the most intelligent game known- the game of chess. Under the direction of Mr. Schulze, they meet in the Junior Science Laboratory frequently during their free time. With a continual dis- play of good sportsman- ship, they are constantly trying to improve their game. These boys have enjoyed many matches, and win, lose, or draw, they will enioy many more. Chess Club Standing: Lee Breckenridge, Stanley Dudek, Ted Speicher, Mr. Schulze, Ronald Thompson, David Wakeman Douglas Perfitt, Richard Baxter. Seated: Jerry Borkholder, William Ruth, Robert Harding, David Bradt. Officers: Back Row: Ted Speicher, Vice-Presidentg David Bradt, President, Mr. Olczak, Advisor. Front Row: Sharon Smith, Trea- surer, Bernard Blew, Corresponding Secretary, Dixie Carroll, Recording Secreta ry. Rifle Club Once again the Rifle Club has proved to be one of the most popular extra-classroom endeavors at O.A.C.S. Unfortunately the delay in the build- ing's completion had an equally delaying effect on the Club. The shooting facilities were unprepared until mid-year. However an active intra-mural sched- ule was set up and followed providing the members with the necessary incentive to succeed. The fresh- man class alone was represented by no less than 5 teams. A championship team and individual award will greet the master marksmen at the end of the year's trial. Improving Our Society

They try to aid any' group that desires their serv- ices tor scenery, props, painting, and any other such assistance. The club assisted Mrs. Thompson and her grade school operetta, and helped the Seniors with their play, The Brain Storm . Their aim is to be helpful in the area in which their help is needed. Stage Craft Club -avr, Mr. P. Howarth, a student teacher who spent ten weeks at O.A.C.S., is shown here working with some members of the club.
