When the Tornadoes were at full strength, there Was no stop- ping them. Denis Melby, who was lost to the Tornadoes an hour before gametime at Mandan, re- joined the team later on in the season, and the boys Won their last four games ending with an overall 5-3-l record. Theirfinal victory over unbeaten RRV Champs, Mayville, was by far one of the top performances of the year. The Tornadoes' 19-O Homecoming vic- tory over Ellendale was also a top all-out victory. Jack Bopp, Senior OB and HB was the stellar performer through- out the season. Other outstanding players were: Don Vellenga, Mel McPhail, Dave Weight, and Bill Harris . Other starting Seniors Were: Cal Laske, Roger Aune, Marv . Hankel and Leonard Bentson. The Tornadoes compiled the best defensive record in the con- ference having only 32 points scor- ed against them . The two con- ference losses came early in the season, in which both games found the Tornadoes outplaying their opponents, but still losing.
