No yearbook during the last week of school. No signing party. But, we didn't decide on a fall delivery just to be different. We wanted a better book- an Oracle that paid as much attention to the last day of school as it did to the first-as much to graduation as to registration. The photos on this page are a case in point. These pictures represent many moreinside the book that would never have made it in a June-delivery yearbook with its February final deadline. There is another reason for an October book: homecoming. The word, after all, does mean come home. Yet, that event pays little attention to recent graduates land nearly everyone in this school will someday be a recent graduatevj. Except for the footballvgame-which anyone can attend-there is nothing a June graduate can come home to. Now, however, there is a yearbook. Hopefully, one of the great Oakdale traditions will be Oracle Day during homecom- ing at which June graduates can renew friendships over their yearbooks.
