Henry W. Denmead Mr. Denmead has been with our school since its inception in 1960. As President of the Board of Education, he has watched it grow and has given it many a needed boost when the going was rough. Now the time has come to honor this man who has done so much for Oakcrest. As a symbol of our deep appreciation to this outstanding individual, the new gymnasium addition has been dedi- cated to Mr. Henry W. Denmead.

tennis Tennis is a growing sport in this area and Oakcrest's athletic schedule reflects this growth. For the first time, tennis was treated as a varsity sport, with the team facing a full schedule against difficult competition. Mr. Joe Mohr's coaching prepared the team amply for this task. This year the G.A.A. added new activities to its usual function of awarding points to the participants in varsity and intramural sports. It presented an assembly, G.A.A.'s Wide World of Sports, staged a very successful mother-daughter activity night, and sponsored a scholarship fund for girls planning to maior in physical education.
