Fi f' l SOCCSI' This was the first year for competitive soccer at Oakcrest and, as the season progressed, the players showed great improvement under the direction of Coach Ackerman. Although not presently a varsity sport, soccer is sure to grow in importance in the coming years. With many of the team's members coming back again next year, hopes are high for better and better Oakcrest soccer teams. Coach Coach Ackerman oversees a soccer exercise session.

l i cross country The cross country season this year was highlighted by the defeat of an arch foe, Atlantic City High, in which the Falcons took nine out of the first ten places. The team record was tour wins and six losses, but with the return of many of this year's varsity runners, next year's season should bring in more Oakcrest victories. The outstanding runner on the team was Dave Williams, who had an unde- feated season. The team was capably captained by John LeCompte.
