LAST WILL m mmmf We, the Senior Class of 1950, of the Oakboro High School, County of Stanly and State of North Carolina, being of sound mind, realizing our stay here will soon be over, do hereby de- clare and make known to all concerned that this is our last will and testament: 1st. To our principal, Mr. Haynes, we bequeath our respect and gra titude for his guidance for the last two years. 2nd. To the faculty we express our appreciation for their many kind acts and knowledge they have given us during our stay here at Oakboro School. 3rd. To our janitor who has been a friend to all we leave a sincere feeling of gratitude. 4th. To the Juniors we leave our place as Seniors at Oakboro High in hopes they live up our good name. 5th. To the Sophomores we leave our literary knowledge in hopes they turn out as many geniuses as we did. 6th. To the Freshmen Class the Seniors leave their notes containing all the methods of get- ting along with the High School Teachers, since we have spent four years trying them all out. 7th. The Seniors having individual and valuable possessions do hereby bequeath them as follows: Cora Lee Whitley leaves her place on the cheering squad to Lucille Furr. Lowell Hill leaves his ability to have a different girl every night to Kenneth Whitley. Gloria Smith wills her place as the neatest girl in the Senior Class to Carol Burris. Mary Frances Tucker leaves her ability to catch a boyfriend to Lynette Whitley. Junior Hartsell wills his place as the most eligible bachelor in the Senior Class to Gaston Austin. Melvin Crisco wills his ability to keep a secret to Lewis Bud Kluttz. Bobby Curlee wills his slow and easy way with cars to Blane Tucker. Harold Curlee bequeaths his surplus A ' s to W. L. Smith, hoping they will do him more good. Glenn Smith leaves his good looks to Grady Whitley. Aileen Snyder bequeaths her lovely complexion to Frances Hahn. Pearl Morgan leaves her place as storekeeper to Annyce Hathcock. Herman Kirby bequeaths his pleasing personality to Jerry Poplin. M. L. Barbee leaves his place as quietest boy in the Senior Class to Jack Tucker. Sara Katherine Whitley leaves her ability to study during gossip sessions to Christine Burgess. Odene Burgess leaves to Jean Morton her place on the winning basketball team of Oakboro. C. J. Hartsell leaves his leadership ability to Reece Allen. J. B. Edwards wills his thoughtfullness and nice manners to Lenonard Howell. Ted Parker bequeaths his place as most popular in the Senior Class to Joyce McClellan. Melvin Hartsell bequeaths his wave clamps to Morris Griffin hoping they will do him more good. Doris Crayton leaves her place as wittest in the Senior Class to Gwendola Williams. Gloria Smith leaves her sweet disposition to Avinell Barbee. Harold Huneycutt wills his seat on the Back row in English to David Earnhardt. Eunice Kennedy leaves her place as most dignified Senior to Rachel Huneycutt. Dwight Hill leaves his maps of Union County to C. J. Lambert. Edward Efird wills his waves and curls to Maurice Drye. Martha Huneycutt bequeaths her love letters to Betty Ruth Austin. Odene Burgess leaves her place as most studious girl in the Senior Class to Jeannette Huneycutt. R. Lee Mclntyre leaves his beloved Geometry book to Thurman Whitley. Bobby Curlee leaves his girls from Ridgecrest to Frank Springer. Eunice Kennedy bequeaths her ball suit to Yvonne Kennedy. Beatrice Crisco leaves her conceitedness to Betty Allmon. J. T. Hinson leaves his old typewriter, Old Faithful to Kenneth Kennedy and hopes he has better results. Gloria Smith bequeaths her friendly smile to Joyce McClellan. Pearl Morgan, Doris Drye, and Mary Frances Tucker leave their places in Drivers Education to Mildred Whitley, Hattie Huneycutt, and Molly Foreman.
