Remaining fully accredited by that agency ever since, the institution has also been accredited by the State of North Carolina since the state began accrediting programs. Cur primary goal is to facilitate the development of the student, both academically and per- sonally, and prepare himfher to make a contribution to the modern world. Courses are structured to meet stu- dent capabilities and needs, and evaluation is based on progress as well as achieve- ments. Socially, students have the opportunity to enjoy a spectrum of extracurricular activities, both on and off campus, ranging from attend- ing plays to performing in community parades, from athletic tournaments to Capture the Flag. Foreign lan- guage clubs including an organization for those whose second language is English, a quarterly Literary Maga- zine, Yearbook Staff, Honor Council, Monogram Club, Dinner Theatre, and a Talent Show provide students a myriad of opportunities to explore their ovvn outside in- terests.
