Through the various music organizations at ORHS we receive a widened interest in music. Our band furnishes us with concert music and a varied program for easy listening, the Rythm-Aires keep us iumpin' with dance music. To these instrumental groups the Choral Ensemble and Girls' Chorus add their well-trained voices. ABOVE: Mr. Raisis is known for conducting the Oak Ridge Sym- phony Orchestra and the high school choral ensemble. He is interested in all activities concerning music in the school and sponsors the iunior class. During the day, orchestra, choral ensemble, and classes in the ele- mentary schools, help to keep Mr. Raisis very busy. During the summer he prepares for each school year by working with other outstanding musicians. Mr. Raisis enioys playing the violin and has pleased many audiences with his playing. Don't worry Howard, your group will be successful as always, The band includes John Banta, Dean Humphrys, Carroll Broyles, Eddie Huffman, Bill Eppes, Jimmy Moretz, Neill Thomasson, Mac Peacock, Rock Hudson, Dewey Strickland, Pat Mclntyre, Howard Horn, David Cottrell, Richie Blackerby, and Jerry Africk. Barbara Ballenger is the W 'E ki Xtftw MJ' XJ Prof, the band's favorite, is also a favorite around the school as a willing helper in the musical activities. Besides teaching bond, girls' chorus and instrumental music, Mr. Scarbrough is sponsor of the senior class and the Rhythm- Aires, He has a fine tenor voice and enjoys playing the clarinet. His favorite sports in- clude bowling, horseback riding, and slow- pitch softball. vocalist. Adding to the enioyment of the halftime activities are our maiorettes who are Judy Evans, Dola Faye Terry, Nancy Bowman, Nancy Anne Reed, and Joy Stout.
