Freshmen Welcomed At Munch With Mother Goose The theme for this year's Match Mate Munch was Munch with Mother Goose. The Munch was held on September 27 in the south cafeteria where the walls were decorated with scenes from Mother Goose rhymes. Plans were started for the Munch last spring and the committees met during the summer. The chairmen of the Munch were Peg Moroni, Barb Mueller, and Mary K. Win- ters. Qther chairmen were Sue Gullo and Debbie Krautstrunk for decorations, Katie Ratcliff for invitations, Liz Gearen and Sandy Rose for table decorations, Jeanne Flannery and Noreen Hart for entertain- ment, jennifer Neal for hostess, Ellen Parmley for programs and flowers, Shelley Steel for publicity, and Kris Costopolous for tickets. Match Mate Munch originated in the 1962-63 school year. The name was thought up by the Girls' Club officers of that year. It was based on the Big-Little Sister idea - the only difference being the name and ac- tivity. The brunch had always been held at someone's house, and involved only seniors and freshmen. The activity is now a much bigger event which includes all girls. It is now held at the school and is followed by a home football game. Girls' Club president, Patti Carpenter, said, This year's munch was a success be- cause the chairwomen did such a fantastic job. The girls that volunteered to help on certain committees were a big reason why the munch was so good, too. They were always around to lend a helping hand.
