Mr. Rakow was a poeT in his own righT, and auThor oT a book of poems called Inside My Skin. l-le was also The ediTor oT a collecTion oT poeTry, Lyric Verse. InTer- esTed in all oT The ArTs. Mr. Rakow was a c:ollecTor oT modern painTings, liThographs, and rare ediTions oT books. l'le shared These colleCTions wiTh Triends who visiTed him and Mrs. Rakow in Their home. Skill wiTh words and a knowledge oT ArT were reTlecTed in Mr. Rakow's work as adviser To CresT. The magazines he advised showed his Touch, Tor They were always Typographically pleasing and inTeresTing. Mr. Rakow was a skilled Teacher, a TalenTed poeT, and a loyal and dedic:aTed indi- vidual. l-le liked The varieTy oT liTe, and all who knew him learned a biT more abouT liTe- and The appreciaTion oT'arTisTic Things.
