finds Hugo peppy and eager after a long summer vacation, ready to start the year with vim and ambition, He may serve his homeroom by being an agent for the Trap or for lVar Stamps, or by selling tickets for plays, conferences, and dances. He plans early for the fall musts, the Girls' Club Show and Con- ference. He may become a member of the staff of a school publication. He will undoubtedly join one of the many clubs open to him, and he will probably succumb to the lure of the athletic field. Watch him now as, with his friends and com- panions, he enters school and gets ra good start on the year's activities. Wylie?-and Hugo is well entrenched in school life and busy with his many responsibilities. The Christmas season approaches, officially heralded in by Chicago Commons Tag Day, and, after taking in the annual music activities, he starts on his welcome Christmas vacation. Heading the activities of the new year are the final exams, for which he studies hard, regarding half in envy, half in sympathy the midyear graduates. In March Hugo sees the Senior Play 'either as a spectator or as a crew member backstage. A week later, he joins his fellow students in the Gym Exhibit. With the last flurry of snow, he looks forward to all the affairs that precede the closing of school. . l0l ilflg is in the air, and Hugo is fast approaching the end of the school year. As the days grow warmer, he goes out for baseball or track. Hugo Sr. prepares for graduation, while Hugo Jr. gets ready to be top man next year. Both look ahead to the three big events still remaining on their programs: the Junior Prom, the jinal exams, and the distribution of the Tabula. Now, we say good-by to both Hugos as they give their lockers a final slam. We join Hugo fr. in wishing the best of luck to his graduating brotherj and we join Hugo Sr. in wishing those lie leaves behind, all the fun and accomplish-ment that have been his during his years at D.0.0.P. . Unojji- cially he has been around the school for a long time, now that more students know him and talk about him, we present him to you formally and ojficially. Hugo represents all the students, both girls and boys, from the slightly bewildered new freshmen to the self-conjident old seniorsg and in following his progress through the year you will become acquainted with all school activities in the classroom and out. Hugo is an average student who studies enough and who always has an eye out for a good time., Maybe he's that new freshman in your gym class or that ananoying person in your English class who always does his homework. Per- haps he's the one who walked all over your toes at the Junior Prom, or the friend with whom you share an occasional coke, He may be the joker who put confetti down your g back at the Proviso Game. He may be your best friend. You will watch him with his companions studying, taking part in activities, being an avid spectator at all games and plays, going to parties, and jinally emerging in June, contented with the past year, and ready and eager for the future. l20T
