ALUMNAE ASSOCIATIO This has been an exceptionally busy year for the Alumnae Association. Spurred on to greater efforts by the growth of the School of Nursing and the need for a larger scholarship fund to assist students, social activities were planned for almost every month during the Alumnae year. During this current year we have awarded 3 scholarships, and responded to one financial assistant request in january 1963. Awards were presented to a Senior, junior, and Freshman student in May 1962, September 1962 and May 1963. September was membership drive month and purposed plans for the year were presented to the membership. October was the month of the annual cocktail party, a gala affair with a autumn theme. November meeting was novel in that the membership was given an opportunity to tour a new hospital in the area, Gottlieb Memorial in Melrose Park. The director of nursing service was hostess to our group. Schrieber of St. Bernadine's parish gave conferences, heard confessions and said Mass during the day long program. May 15th was the. date of the annual banquet honoring, this year, the 1963 graduates and the 50th anniversary graduates from the class of 1913. The class of 1952 under the chairmanship of Mrs. Veronica Moran Bowling planned and directed this affair which was held at the River Forest Golf Club. Grateful we are to our officers: President Joann Rogers Long '57g Vice PresidentjeanneFreemon Gar- rity '54g Treasurer Ramona Klinefelter Wilson '42g Recording Secretary Mary Vestgard Long '57g Cor- responding Secretary Virginia Shcahen Houlihan '48. December's letter to the membership was in the form of an invitation to our Christmas party at Otto's in Forest Park, probably the most successful Christ- mas party we have had in many years. january began our planning for our February dance and the annual Spring banquet. February was the month of our Valentine Ball at the VFW Hall in Forest Park. Red and white was the decor and happy was the time for all. March is a quiet month awaiting the Spring activities. April 3rd was the date of the Day of Recollection. Father Edmund 44 Lew lu rzglll fSflUl!lfIlgj.' Mrs. Ramona Wilson - Treasurer, Mrs. Virginia Houlihan - Cor- responding Secretary. At Random and The educational facilities of Miseri- cordia. Hall are efficiency personified. But it is the beauty of the Hall, itself, which impresses both residents and visi- tors, alike. It is rare, indeed, to find this harmonious combination of, utility and charm as it is so well expressed in Miseri- cordia Hall.
