Runs a busy year Every year the Oak Park High Student Council stages its frantic car wash. More soap reaches the students than the cars but fun is had by all and die profits go to the Foreign Exchange Program. Oak Park High School Student Council has always tried to work with the students and teachers to keep harmony in the school. This year the Student Council has helped new students and teachers with a hand- book containing the rules and require- ments of the school. Oak Park High School was unable to house a foreign exchange student in ' 61 but has done so in the past. The Council will try to house one next year. In December the Student Council planned an Alumni meeting and in the spring sponsored a tea- chers tea. Even before the school vear had started, Council was busv working on the school calendar and planningone of the schools most important affairs, the Homecoming Pageant and Dance. Each Thursday morning at 7:30 A.M. one may find the Student Council debating over issues brought to them by the student body. Eugene Stevelberg( president) is shown conducting the meeting. 91
