Curtain Going Up Diane Warnick and George Lavne discuss the wonders of the future, in the setting ofKing Arthur ' s Court. On November 9 and 10, the Oak Park High Drama Ckib members pre- sented A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur ' s Court in the auditorium. Playing the lead as Hank Bennet was George Layne who, only last year was Nat Miller in Ah Wilderness. Hank Bennet was a young man who was mysteriously capable of turning back to 508 A.D. The play started off in a New Eng- land home and was suddenly taken back to the time of King Arthur and his knights of the Round Table. As the play progressed, Hank Ben- net stupefied King Arthur and his court with 20th century magic. The success of the play should be attributed to the Drama Club ' s spon- sor and director, Mr. Robert Wurdock, and, of course, to the large number of students participating. EL : 1, J!i: i ii|-W. , --T Arrested by King Arthur ' s guards for sorcery Hank Benet struggles to free himself so that he might prove his innocence. Beautiful scenery created for this plav, is shown at its best in this scene with Qiieen Guenever and Hank Benet. 86
