FACULTY The administration and faculty form the foundation of the school unit. Upon their shoulders rests die great task of stimulating the students with the desire to learn, and offering them the trained leadership which must guide them througiiout their high school edu- cation. They are trusted by the community to develop this ceaseless process, and to prepare each student lor continuing this life-long project.

Left to right: Dr. James N. Pepper, Supertntendait of Schools, Mr. Clifford May, Assistant Superintendent, Mr. Edmn Crandall, Curriculum Coordinator, Dr. Lawrence ' alade. Assistant Superintendent in charge of Administration. Administration Oak Park ' s Board of Education, composed of lay citizens, sets the policy throughout the school system. Another of its more important functions is providing adequate funds for maintaining school operations. The school board is the citi- zens ' link to the education of their children, and all meetings are open to the public. The Superintendent of Schools carries out the policies es- tablished by the board and oversees the general activities of the school district. To help him with die great amount of work which the job entails, die superintendent has three administra- tive assistants; a business manager, a curriculum co-ordinator and an assistant supervisor.
