Math The Language Mathematics, the exact science, is becom- ing more and more important as science and knowledge progress. Knowledge of math, often called the language of science, must be developed for understanding new and fascinating discoveries. In keeping with the times. Oak Park ' s math department has turned to a modern teaching method developed at the Univer- sity of Illinois, by Dr. Max Beberman and Dr. Herbert Vaughn. This method, which stresses the student ' s own thinking, is also being introduced at Oak Park ' s junior high schools, in a program designed at the Uni- versity of Maryland. JAMES S.
