Girls Get Back Into Action The Girls ' Athletic Association returned to Oak Park High School this year. All girls were eligible to compete in the intra-mural competition, which took place after school two days a week. Such sports as volleyball, basketball, and Softball were played. Letters were awarded to those girls who attended the meeting regularly, participated in the sports, and paid their dues. Girls wait on the sideliiies lor iheir chance to pluv baskolh;ill. Vincent Haronv Gary Walters Richard Walden Coaches: The Men Behind the Scenes Athletic Director John Kestner New faces were seen this year in the coaching department of Oak Park High School. Mr. Harvey Hershey, who had just entered the Oak Park school system, was the Varsity Tennis coach this year. Mr. Peter Russell, a new addition to the Oak Park High School faculty, took the place of Mr. James Beadle as the Varsity Golf coach. Mr. Gary Walters was moved up from Fresh- man Basketball coach to Junior Varsity Basketball coach. The fine work of the coaches has brought much glory to Oak Park High in recent years. Many Oak Park teams have held high places in the Oakland B Conference. The coaches have been an important factor in the success of the teams.
