The 1961 Track team was very strong, led by seniors Dave Pink. Leon Meyers, and Bill Trobough. The team, however, has a promising future. There are many good sophomores and juniors joining the Varsity; therefore the Track team promises to remain strong in future years. Baseballers Have Good Start The Oak Park High School Varsity baseball team started strongly in 1961, winning three of its first four games. The team faded however, in the latter part of the season to finish with a 3-9 won-lost record. Hopes for the 1962 team looks bright with the return of three lettermen pitchers: Al Balfour, Art Perierra, and Bob Click. Last year ' s 880 relay team: Leon Mevers, Staii Rosenberg, Dave Pink, and Bill Troboiinh. Successful Season Russ Carle strains his body ashetriesto go over the bar in the pole vault. Stan Rosenberg exhibits perfect form as he clears die high jump bar. Al Ruby has little trouble in clearing die bar. over team mate Mike Brooks in the mile nm. Dave Pink brings Oak Park a winner in the H relay. 121
