Oak Park 7 Troy 26 Oak Park 25 Lake Orion 12 The 1961 Junior Varsity football team finished the season with a 1-3 won-lost rec- ord, but looked very strong in the latter part of the year. The team shows promise for next year ' s Varsity. Coached by Mr. Lyle Albrant, the J.V. was composed of sophomores. Many of these players hope to make the Varsity team next season. An Oak Park matnian tries to break a hold. Art Rothenberg and Joel Morganroth practice wrestling hold. Young Team. Hurts Matmen Although the Wrestling team won only two meets, next year looks very hopeful. Almost all of the wrestlers will be return- ing, making a strong experienced team. Led by juniors Joel Morganroth and Art Rodienberg, who were both constant winners, the team looked strong in the last half of the season, leaving high hopes for next year. Throughout Season Lance Leithauser prepares to take down opponent. Eugene Stevelberg Mike Brooks Del Brickser n any awav Cross Country- meet Although the Cross Country Team had a 2-6 record, they showed great promise for the future year, and proved to all that they had the desire to win. This year ' s captains, Paul Yelensky and Steve Barnes, both will return in 1962, and again lead the team. Said Steve, The Cross Country Team has had a very successful season. He cdso stated that, although the team will have lost three valuable seniors. Gene Stevelberg, Mike Brooks and Del Brickser, its other players will help to increase the strength. 113
