Assemblies Spark Student Interest Providing a variety of entertainment for the students and faculty were the more than twenty assemblies held throughout the year. Assemblies brought an exciting atmosphere and a rest from studying. These assemblies varied in content, from the International Moron Societys' version of Miss Donut Queen to the United States Martial Art's demonstration of karate. The six pep assemblies held, led by each one of the varsity cheerleaders, were to honor the athletes at Oak Park. These assemblies contained humor, contests, and entertainment in pom pon, bannerette, gymnastics, and Oak Street Singers performances.
