Lower left, Pit Orcheslra reliearses for CAJWELOT. he curriculum at Oak Park cannot fulfill the ambitions and ideals of every student, but Oak Park is not just a curriculum-minded school. lt combines curriculum with student activities so that an Oakie can become involved Without sticking to classroom situations. By Working in sports, clubs, or the fine arts, a student can learn leadership and compromise, and perhaps experience a moment of history as either an acting sensation or a sports superstar. Involvement in extra-curricular activities provides the time to combine those who care enough to watch and those who dream enough to perform, in a common search for entertainment, value, and the chance to grow.

Through exterior involvement students find that preparation for the future exists in different atmospheres than an educational system often provides. Whether acquiring necessary training, or in it for the money, Northmen shared experiences in the working world. Through their jobs, many students became involved in community affairs. For those with little leisure time, personal relaxation was a privilege not to be Wasted. Be it seeing a movie with friends, in a group learning process, a moment in the school spotlight, or a chance to shine in the community, the Oak Park students found themselves constantly involved in discovering a life-style suitable to their desires.
