m.m,. '!. Oakies Develop Insight Via Awide variety of foreign languages, including French, Spanish, German, and Russian, was taught at Oak Park. The main goal and aim of each foreign language was to broaden the students! concepts and thoughts and to give them a better understanding of the people and their cus' toms in today's world. The students accomplished this through pronouncing, reading, and 'tthinking in the foreign language. Mrs. Lynda Pate and Mrs. Sandra Garrison guided students through the French language. Third-year stu- dents under Mrs, Pate wrote term papers in the French language, while fourth-year students read Andromague, Le Cid, and Candide. Russian students' main study was reading the works of Tolstoy. First and second year students read Tolstoy's short stories while third year read Captive in the Causcas under the direction of Mrs. Michelle Hiller. .f 3? , fu mtl' 'Qi Q Christina Banks Sandra Garrison Rose Hall German, English II, III FTCHPI1 I, II Spanish I, III, IV B.S. in Ed., K,U.
