Each year in the Spring, candidates for the Joseph E. Lynch award for the most outstanding boy and girl are selected from the Junior class by the faculty on the basis of scholastic ability and achievement. The nominees are then placed before the Junior class which selects the top five girls and top five boys. The most outstanding Junior boy and girl is then selected from these by a final vote from the faculty. Each year the winners’ names are engraved in the Joseph E. Lynch award plaque which is displayed along with their photos in the Spartan gym lobby.
