The friends you make now will grow as you grow throughout your journey in high school. These beginning friendships will be the basis of friendships to come. You made it to sophomore year and are no longer la- beled “BENNIE.” You feel semi-important! No longer are your games played on days opposite of the varsity. Now you are the opener, you get the crowd riled up. (As they walk in during the 4th quarter.) You have the chance to be elected to Student Council and help with running the school. The faces that seemed so new last year, are now familiar and many are your friends. Just think, one more year then you will have the face of an ‘‘upperclassman.”’ ett, cad Seiad octal Teal mR ie coe 004 a cod ee en - Ed 1. You’ve made it! This year many opportunities are open to you. For those who are smart enough, there’s the National Honor Society. You can legally eat, talk, or just sit in the Junior-Senior Lounge. And let’s not forget about the Junior-Senior Prom. Your faces become excited as parents let you stay out later, have the car more often, and get a job. Next year your faces will glow — when finally you will be the “BIG CHEESE” of the school. 1. “Go ahead, make my day.” 2. M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U... 3. Your library debt comes to a total of $15,392.25. 4. So also, your leadership role will expand until sud- denly you will find yourselves the leaders. The dreams you dream ¢oday will all too quickly become memories. The history that you leave for future generations has already begun. | The long and winding road ahead can and will be varied and different. It can be a wide and smooth highway that takes you quickly and smoothly along your way. It can be a rough, rocky, and narrow trail filled with setbacks and frustrations. It can be a pleasant, grassy, pathway bordered with pretty flowers and shaded by majestic trees where you travel slowly District 229 and pleasantly. You have climbed the high school ladder to its highest rung. You are a SENIOR! Senior year is upon us and with it comes many joys and sor- rows; winning the spirit stick, having the best overall homecom- ing float, passing the constitution test, prom and don’t forget our homecoming victory. The last game, dance or activity brings to an end a period in our life that will remain with us forever. Next year, when we're at college, working, or just bumming around, the faces of our friends and teachers will bring back many pleasant memories. Live it up, as seniors we're at the top of the mountain, king of the hill, use it to shine, because you will only have the face of a high school senior once. 1.
