Some outstanding accomplishments this year, were producing 2 conference champs and winning one-third of all the medals at the conference meet which con- tained 6 schools. Through the many ups and downs of the year, two young men stayed at the top. They were Jim Cizek, 98 lbs. and Terry Mulrenin, 119 lbs. For the first time in the history of Oak Lawn wres- tling, OLCHS had two state champions in the same year, Jim and Terry!! Jim, as a junior, was undefeated in 32 matches capped off with his State Championship. He pinned 14 oppo- nents during the year, won the Hins- dale Holiday Tournament, took 1st in the District and Sectional Tournaments and shared Most Valuable Wrestler honors with Terry for the season. Jim entered the National Junior Free-style Tournament in Denver, Colorado, and placed 6th. He has all the desired qualities for a good wrestler; speed, desire, skill, conditioning, and knowledge. He should win the State as a Senior. Terry is a senior and had to fight back on several occasions to win his State title. He won the Hinsdale Holi- day Tournament for the third time in a row (only the second wrestler to do so) and was named most valuable for the tournament. He placed Ist in the Dis- trict and 2nd in the Sectional Tourna- ment. In the State Tournament he pin- ned one of four opponents en route to his State title. His pin and he and Jim's wins gave OLCHS a 2nd place which has happened only once before, (1959). Terry also wrestled in the tour- nament in Denver, Colorado, and placed 8th. He has one of the fastest duckunders ever seen which helped him win many of his 26 victories. 1. Two State winners with their proud coach. 2. The dawning of a new day and a school year. . Kathy Bellas pushes her way thru the crowded corridors. Jenine already working on the year ahead. We'll never forget those who tried to make us feel at home. The Wolfman came . And the girls went crazy. Our own Arthur (Fonzie) Fonzarelli! Cary Widel seems slightly disgusted by the whole thing. 271 N N N nw oN nne . Cheering the Spartans on. A few members of the court with their escorts. . Mary Kasley giving up her crown to Deb Zic- kus. Waiting to get in. The old Christmas Spirit. What a drag! Kathy seems to have a bad case of the fakes. A senior, obviously. 273 Everyone relaxing in the lounge. Bill seems to be having a little trouble. Hey, stop reading, that guy's taking our pic- ture. Some one tell her that the bell rang ten min- utes ago. Hanging inthere. . . A junior looking ahead to the future. Don Reed comes bouncing back after a rough weekend. The last supper. 275 eae Determined to make it this year. 5 foot two and eyes of blue. Take me away. Larry gets a little friendly advice from Mr. Lynch. The time has come to. Shake it on baby. Now shake it on baby!!! The only thing left for us is graduation, the final moment the past four years have built up to. All the trials and tribulations of making new friends and forgetting old ones, and all the other pains of grow- ing up will become p ast experiences. As the school doors close behind us that night we can look back and say it was worth it, and we still have these memories toclingto. . . our reflections. Desiqned by Carey Widel 277 74-75 Yearbook Stat ‘Reflections’ The 1975 Yearbook Staff was a real experience!!! Except for the second and last deadline the office was very calm and mild. As those two deadlines approached total bedlam set in and I constantly had to reach for the little blue pill! Everyone pitched in when necessary except it was hard finding ''GAJ'’ once in a while, like most of the time. ''MUL ' was always there when needed and really deserved the MOST OUTSTANDING AWARD. DAN was our ''DON JUAN who spent more time romancing than on his pages, while his poor sister got stuck typing all the time. This year I can not be accused of being a Male Chauvinist, as all the girls can attest for they did get to go on the Carribean Cruise this year! ''HUGHIE ' kept trying to take pictures, but always had a hard time holding the camera still but he got his pages in on time. Tho there were many ups and downs, the book ended on the hill of excellence for it is one of the best ever produced at O.L.C.H.S. shadows in my mind, Speak to me of passing, days and nights, and passing time. The falling leaves are whispering, winter is on its way, I close my eyes remembering, the warmth of yesterday. It seems a shame to see September, swallowed by the wind, And more than that, it's oh so sad to see the summer end. And though the changing colors are a lovely thing to see, If it were mine to make the change, I think I'd let it be.
