Homecoming is the biggest event of the fall season, and the homecoming ball and crowning of the queen are highlights of the day. A pretty girl is a song in her own right, but our queen, besides being lovely, is active and personable. She reigns over the ball, and her crowning is the high point of the evening. In that golden moment she is probably the happiest girl in the world, and she is the ideal of many a girl at the dance.

NATIONAL MERIT WINNERS Among the scholastic elite of our nation are Allen Broyles, Geri Kaczmarski, and Barbara Stanton. These three seniors are among the few semi-finalists OLCHS has had in the National Merit Competition. Their scores on the competitive examination were in the top of the top 1% of the U. S. average, and more examinations and interviews are coming. Each one of these students deserves our heartiest congratulations.
