Mick F iorini Reigns As King F ootball The theme of the 1968-69 King Football dance was hCatCh A Falling Star.,, Decorations, in ac- cordanee with the theme, were based on outer space. The dance, sponsored by Pep Club was held to honor the twenty-three senior gridsters who were the candidates for the title. The high point of the evening was the announcement of the ,68-69 King Football, Mick Fiorini, Melody Lowther, Pep Club President, crowned Mick and presented him with a five dollar gift certificate. When asked his feeling about being named to the throne, Mick answered, ttBeing Chosen King Football is a school honor, but since the voting is done by those who attend the dance, the signifi- cance seems slighter because of the Chance of popularity votes. ttBed Shoes This year's fall play was uRed Shoes, 3 story of a young girl orphaned in her teens. Karen is overcome with the politeness 0f Snogg and the wit 0f Jemmo. She decides to run away with Snogg to become a ballerina. Late in the play Snogg reveals his true self. It seems too late for Karen to return to her newly found grandmother when Snogg shows his true intentions. If it werenit for the lover hero Nels, Karen would be doomed, but as all heroes d0, Nels saves the day and they live happily ever after. Playing leads in the production of iiRed Shoes Were Terry Cranert, as the wicked Gypsy Snogg Robin kaer, a freshman, portrayed Karen; Bill Keeton, Nels; Richard Burton, the burgermaster. The infamous and delightful Jemmo was played by Leslie Laioshi Two new people to attain parts in the full production were Sally Sjodail, grand- mother, and Toby Clandorf, the shoemaker. All in all is Red Shoes was a delightful production.
