Business manager Barb Powell and circulation manager Brenda Mullen. m marital Sixteen times a year Oak Hills students produce The Tartan, a record of people and events as they occur. With the guidance of adviser. Mr. Eugene Wagner, the staff works long and hard to make The Tartan a news- paper every Highlander can be proud of. In order to learn more about journalism, as well as to demonw strate the facility they already have, seven Tartan edi- tors and staff attended the convention of the Journale ism Association of Ohio Schools at Ohio State Univere sity, where Oak Hills journalists were awarded four second place and two third place honors in writing competitions. The workshop sponsored by the Miami Valley Journalism Association at Miami University in the spring is another opportunity to polish journalistic skills, which from September to June keep Oak Hills students informed about what's going on at their school. Tartan ideas begin with adviser Mrt Eugene Wagner and editor Kim Burress. 25

In mfd-January the drama department offers an evening of one-act plays and the semi-formal Sweetheart dance highlights February. Exams present a different type of i n- volvement on the part of Oak Hills stu- dents. The long hours of study and tension are not soon forgotten but the spread of the Hsaddle shoe conspira- cy offers some lighter moments. It is a busy season in an eventful yeart
