LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We, the graduating class of 1955, have come to the point where our school days are limited, and we think we should leave something to those who will take our places. To Mr. Adcock, we give and bequeath a feeling of relief that we have at last been graduated. To our advisor, Mrs. Watkins, we leave all our test papers, book reports and our famed Elizabethan Theater. To our teachers, the faculty of Oak Hill High School, we hereby give, free from all inheritance, our entire store of knowledge. From them it came and to them it should be returned that others may benefit from it. To the Freshman Class, young and unsophisticated, we leave a map of the school building, so that they will not get lost and get in everybody's way looking for the class- room. To the Sophomore Class, we leave our patience and we hope it will be found useful. To the Junior Class, we give, reluctantly but of necessity, our mantle of dignity. We realize that the class can never fill it but since it is expected of them our advice is, Grin and Wear It. I, Josephine Overton, leave my big mouth to Helen Jones. I, Marie Champion, leave my ability to get married to Gertie Bagbey. I, Joyce Seate Overby, leave my talent to Shellie Nelson. I, Mary Anne Elliotte Hughes, leave my friendly ways to Glennis Boyd. I, Jewell Rice, leave my good looks to Mary Lyle Perkins. I, Alma Bray, leave my ability to play ball to Gertie Bagbey. I, Faye Pittard, leave my ability to date every night to Helen Jones. I, Pauline West, leave my old maid ways to Mildred Overton. I, Margaret Woods, leave my best all-round ways to Ruth Elliott. I, Lois Greenway, leave my witty ways to Dorothy Cifers. I, Mary Lee Englebright, leave my ability to succeed to Shellie Nelson. I, Richard Culbreth, leave my ability to laugh to Winn Vaughan. I, Waylon Champion, leave my flirty ways to Tennie Melton. I, Lewis Boyd, leave my height to Joel Woodlief. I, Howard Oliver, leave my quiet ways to Herman Elliotte and Joe Cottrell. I, Bruce Blackwell, leave my ability to slave for Mr. Adcock to Reid Jones. I, Howard Jones, leave my ability to hold a girl friend to Robert Lee Elliotte and Wilbur Perkins. I, Stuart Vaughan, leave my ability to dress nice to Dan Mangrum and Irvan Seate. I, Tom Woods, leave my ability to sing to Grover Yancey and G. W. Newton. CLA SS PROPHEC Y Soon we shall know the future. In a thrice the veil shall be rent and we shall gaze upon the destinies of the members of the graduating class of 1955. What do I see for the future? Ah, now I see! I! In the fall of 1965 I see that the '55 graduates are very busy and happy. Isee MARIE CHAMPION zooming around over the world with Fleming while he tries to teach her to drive a jet. For Her pastime she keeps house at Henderson. I find that BRUCE has finally done it! Since he loved skating so much in high school, he is owner of the most famous skating rink in the United States. He travels about the world taking contestants to skating shows. Of course, they are winners! I IOSEPHINE OVERTON is seen on the stage wrestling against the world's most famous wrestler. I see that she is winner and she is also seen in many laughing shows competing against many other laughers. RICHARD is the manager of the race tracks at the World Fair. He has the ability to fight, so while he is not busy at the race tracks, he is seen in the boxing ring on most TV screens. In front of a group of small anxious students I see LOIS ANNE trying to keep them quiet. Other than teaching school, she cooks for her husband. Of course, you can guess what Isee WAYLON doing. He has finally found a girl to say I do. I also find him sailing around from place to place since he took up navy life. You can bet he takes his wife with him. LEWIS is seen outside the BOYD Construction Company in New Y0rk. He helps build anything from pa per airplanes to clay spitballs. Isee PAYE PITTARD standing beside a hospital bed with a needle in her hand. I wonder if she knows the difference between a sewing needle and a vaccination needle. If she doesn't, I hope she will soon leam to use a vaccination needle while nursing. Now, I see MARGARET ELLEN teaching school and on the side she is trying to find a man with a million bucks. As Isee it, she won't be making a living for herself much longer but will have a companion to work for her. HOWARD OLIVER was never very loud on class, but he has increased his motive for talking. Isee that he is radio announcer for a New York Broadcasting station. Ithink I see ALMA BRAY walking down the corrider at Johns Hopkins Hospital. In this case, she isn't looking for a man but waiting on them. MARY LEE is very successful. I see that she is working as editor of the Dorothy Dix Column in a well-known newspaper in Danville. She also travels about selling her papers. I see TOM sitting in the driver's seat of a Greyhound bus. If he can't get to drive his car where he wants to go, he carries a bus load of people, so he can go, too. JOYCE has met the man of her dreams out in Califomia while on vacation and you can guess the rest. She is still out there helping her husband pack fruit to be sent to Nelson. Since HOWARD had a voice for singing I see that he is ranking high in front of Perry Como. He has also found a movie star that he cared to spend the rest of his life with. I-Ioward's motto is Live, Love and Be Happy. I see MARY ANNE was lucky enough to get her a man. She and Floyd are living happily together. I see that IEWELL is married and her husband baby sits while she works as typist for a famous eye specialist. I also see that STUART has finally gotten the nerve to pop the question to the little girl of his dreams, whom he met in his early courting day. Well, since he asked the question, you know the rest. By now you might think I'm a fortune teller. But no! ll As the rest of the girls do, I have found the one and only and received my M, R. S, degree. Pauline West--Prophet
